21 Celebrities and Companies Who Love Slave Labor

Celebrities and billionaires love all sorts of things: golf, gold, germanic automobiles. But their favorite thing is being rich, something all celebrities are aware is rarely permanent. See, there’s an improper division of wealth in America, with too much money going to a small few, and too little money going to the vast majority. Being a celebrity, your inclination is to keep things this way, as you’re part of the small few. How do you do that? Human slavery. Every person you enslave is one less who can challenge you for even a tiny slice of the world’s wealth. With every slave, you ensure the global economic status quo remains the way it has for centuries. Here are some celebrities who love slave and/or child labor.
The Kardashians
The Kardashians aren’t a patient people, and when they want their line of Sears clothing, it better come quick. To ensure this, the Kardashians allegedly used slave labor in China (16-year-olds paid $ 1/hour during 84 hour weeks) while raking in $ 65 million/year from sales.
Nike
Nike and Phil Knight are kind of the go-to examples of Celebrity enslavement. Nike had pregnant women and girls as young as 14 working in sweatshops under brutal conditions, not to mention physically abusing those who wore outdoor shoes into the factory!
Apple/Steve Jobs
Not to besmirch the name of the dead but let’s be honest: Steve Jobs wasn’t exactly the hero he’s made out to be. When workers at Foxconn, a Chinese factory which makes the iPhone and iPad started killing themselves in droves due to the horrible conditions Steve Jobs called it “very troubling,” and said “we’re all over this.” He lied and he enslaved. They’re now threatening a mass suicide if conditions don’t improve.
Gap
Mostly known for making ugly, boring clothes, the Gap uses Indian slave labor to produce them. Lovely!
Nestle
Of all the enslavements, Nestle has the most devious one. They enslave mothers and infants to their formula milk. Nestle routinely goes to third world countries, handing out huge cans of formula milk to new mothers. The mothers feed their babies with the milk, but once the first can has run out they realize their bodies aren’t producing milk anymore — it’s been too long of using the formula. Now Nestle owns them the way a heroin dealer owns a junkie, and they must have more Nestle formula or the baby dies. Horrible stuff.
Ford
Henry Ford was a pretty evil guy, evidenced primarily by his love for Hitler. During WWII, Hitler let Ford build and operate a slave labor camp for building Fords in Germany.
Wal-Mart
How did you think they kept the prices so cheap? By using slave labor from exotic destinations such as Bangladesh, China, Mexico, etc.
Target
They have to keep up with Wal-Mart don’t they? That’s why Target’s used slave labor in Jordan and refused customer demands for child labor-free goods.
Abercrombie and Fitch
No surprise here, the enslavement of children for profit is nothing new to preppy white people. What’s interesting is this company has been around since the 1960′s, they just weren’t successful until they started enslaving children.
Old Navy
But the commercials seem so happy! Hopefully the kids in Saipan that make the clothes will be rescued soon from a life of slavery and abuse.
Eddie Bauer
What do you do when you can’t find enough foreign slaves? Get some domestic ones. That’s what Eddie Bauer did when it won a contract to have its clothes made by prisoners in Tennessee and Washington State.
IBM
IBM has a rich history of profiting off of slave labor, and they decided to continue with the tradition, getting their circuit boards made by Texas prisoners on the cheap.
J. Crew
The air in the store says, “we’re far too good for slave labor.” But they’re not. J. Crew is perhaps the most malicious enslaver of them all: they allowed a Chinese factory of theirs to go out of business, and refused to pay back wages to the employees (slaves).
FPI or Federal Prison Industries
This is essentially a legalized, government sanctioned slavery incorporation. All their labor is done using prisoners who are paid anywhere between 23 cents and $ 1.15 per hour. They pretend their autonomous from the government, but how do they keep getting all the juicy contracts? Like using inmates to disassemble electronic waste, which is toxic and dangerous due to the high levels of mercury, beryllium and arsenic found in old computers and TVs. Pure evil.
Coca-Cola
Now this breaks my heart. I love Coca-Cola. You know who they don’t love? El Salvadorian children that they use to farm their sugar cane fields, which is incredibly dangerous work for children. And slave labor.
Firestone
Firestone owns a rubber plantation in Liberia that has a quota system installed. In order to meet this system, Firestone has admitted one would have to work 21 hours a day. If you fail to meet quota, your ridiculously low salary is halved. So workers bring their entire families to help, carrying heavy loads, dealing with toxic pesticides and working 12 hours a day. Hideous stuff.
Tommy Hilfiger
Tommy Hilfiger makes his clothes in the US Commonwealth of Saipan, so he can write “Made in the USA” on them. Only they were made outside the US’s federal jurisdiction, so labor laws and minimum wages don’t apply. Getting slave cake and feeding everyone national pride on your Hilfiger? Priceless.
Pizza Hut
Because we live in America, Pizza Hut was fined a few thousand for violating child labor laws in Nebraska. Pizza Hut had a few minors were driving underage, baking pizzas and working after 8 p.m.
Adidas
Adidas uses El Salvadorian labor which is forced to work 60 hours a week in 37 degree conditions. They aren’t even given tracksuits to wear while working.
Hanes
Hanes was caught using 200 children, some 11 and younger to sew their clothes in Bandladesh. They worked 14+ hours a day, and were routinely beaten.
Jaden and Willow Smith
Owned by their famous mother and father, Jaden and Willow have had their childhoods stripped from them in favor of literal celebrity slave labor.
